Support topics for broken watches

I can't set the time or date

  • Please ensure you follow the instructions for your watch carefully and use an appropriate tool to press the SET button. If your watch has a recessed SET button, please use a very thin tool, such as a straightened paper clip to press the button. A pen nib is not suitable.
  • Depending on the watch, you may need to hold the SET button for several seconds, sometimes quite firmly.
  • If you have followed the above support topic and are still experiencing a problem, your watch may require service. Please contact us, let us know the problem and we will advise you how to get your watch repaired.

The battery is dead

  • The lifetime of the battery in your watch will depend on the type of watch. For a USB rechargeable watch, one full charge should last one month, there are 300 charges in one battery and the battery is replaceable. For other LED or LCD watches, it will depend on how often the light up function is used and the buttons are pressed, but should typically last for between nine and twelve months. Batteries in analogue watches may last between two and five years.
  • When you buy a watch from Tokyoflash Japan, the battery supplied is usually factory fitted for testing purposes and may last for a shorter time than stated above.
  • If you notice the lights on your watch getting dimmer, it is an indication that the battery needs replacing. Since weak or dead batteries can damage the movement, we recommend that you replace the battery as soon as possible. Do not wait until the watch stops functioning.
  • If the battery in your watch runs out we recommend that you take the watch to a jewelry store or watch specialist for battery replacement. All watches sold by Tokyoflash Japan use standard batteries available at any jewelry store or watch specialist and can be replaced quickly and easily for a small charge.
  • In the case that the battery has gone dead in a very short time, please contact us.
